How to Create a Facebook Page on Phone or Desktop (2026)

Updated July 8, 2026 · 3 min read

To create a Facebook Page on desktop, log in and go to facebook.com/pages/create, enter your Page name, choose a category, add a short bio, and click Create Page. On your phone, open the Facebook app, tap the menu, tap Pages, tap Create, then enter the same details and tap Create.

A Page is free and takes about two minutes. You create and manage it from your personal Facebook account, and your personal profile is never shown on the Page. Meta requires a Page, not a personal profile, before any tool like Velocity can publish to Facebook or Instagram.

Before you start

  • You need a personal Facebook account to create and manage the Page. Your personal profile stays private and is not shown on the Page itself.

  • Have your business name ready and know roughly which category fits (for example, Pediatrician, Medical Service, or Local Business). You can change the category later.

  • You can start on your phone and finish the details on desktop, or the other way around. The Page is the same either way.

Create a Facebook Page on desktop

The fastest route if you are on a computer. As of July 2026:

  1. 1

Log in to facebook.com, then go to facebook.com/pages/create (or click Pages in the left menu and click Create new Page).

  2. 2

Type your Page name — usually your business name.

  3. 3

Choose a category by typing a keyword and picking the closest match.

  4. 4

Add a short bio describing what you do. This is optional but recommended.

  5. 5

    Click Create Page.

  6. 6

Add a profile photo and cover photo if you have them, then click Save. Your Page is now live.

Create a Facebook Page on your phone

Works on both iPhone and Android in the Facebook app:

  1. 1

Open the Facebook app and tap the menu (the three lines).

  2. 2

Tap Pages. If you do not see it, tap See more first.

  3. 3

Tap Create, then tap Get started.

  4. 4

Enter your Page name and tap Next.

  5. 5

Choose a category and tap Next.

  6. 6

Add a short bio if you want, then tap Create.

  7. 7

Add a profile photo and cover photo if you have them. Your Page is now live.

Tip: the phone app keeps setup short. To fill in full details like hours, website, and address, it is easier to finish on desktop later.

After your Page is created: link it to Instagram

A new Page on its own is not enough for publishing tools. You also need your Instagram set up and linked to the Page. Two short steps finish the job:

1. Switch your Instagram to a Creator or Business account if it is still a personal profile.

2. Connect your Facebook Page to that Instagram account.

Once the Page exists, your Instagram is professional, and the two are linked, head back to Velocity and open the connect flow. Your Page and Instagram will appear in the picker.

Page not created or not showing up?

  • You are not logged in to your personal account. A Page is always created from a personal Facebook account. Log in first, then try again.

  • The name is flagged or already taken. Try a slightly different name, or add your location or specialty.

  • You cannot find the new Page. Refresh, or open it under Pages in the menu. On desktop you can switch into it from your profile photo in the top right.
