How to Connect Your Facebook Page to Your Instagram Creator or Business Account (2026)
Updated July 3, 2026 · 5 min read
To connect your Facebook Page to your Instagram account, open the Instagram app, go to your profile, tap Edit profile, tap Page, then tap Connect or create, log in to Facebook, choose the Page you manage, and tap Connect. You can also start from the Facebook side under your Page's Linked accounts settings, or from Meta Business Suite.
You need two things first: an Instagram Creator or Business account, and full control of the Facebook Page. Meta's API requires this Page link before any publishing tool, including Velocity, can post to your Instagram account.
Requirements before you connect
Your Instagram account is a Creator or Business account. If it is still personal, follow our guide to switch Instagram to a Creator or Business account first. Instagram also offers the switch during the linking flow.
You have full control of the Facebook Page. Our guide to checking admin access on a Facebook Page shows where to look.
One useful warning from Meta: after linking, anyone with access to either the Page or the Instagram account can manage both.
Connect your Facebook Page in the Instagram app
This is the fastest route for most creators. As of July 2026:
- 1
Open Instagram, tap your profile picture in the bottom right, then tap Edit profile.
- 2
Scroll to Profile information (Creator accounts) or Public business information (Business accounts) and tap Page.
- 3
Tap Connect or create, then tap Continue.
- 4
Tap Login to Facebook and confirm the account, or switch to the Facebook account that manages your Page.
- 5
Choose the Facebook Page you manage and tap Connect. You can also create a new Page here.
To undo it later, the same Page screen has a Disconnect Page option. One note: the Page link does not live in Accounts Center. Accounts Center handles logins and sharing between your personal Facebook profile and Instagram, not Page connections.
Connect your Instagram from the Facebook Page
Starting on facebook.com works just as well:
- 1
Click your profile photo in the top right, click See all profiles, and switch into your Page.
- 2
Click the Page's profile picture, then Settings & privacy, then Settings.
- 3
Under Permissions, click Linked accounts.
- 4
Click Instagram, then Connect account.
- 5
Log in with your Instagram username and password and confirm.
Connect your accounts in Meta Business Suite
If you manage the Page through a business portfolio:
- 1
Go to business.facebook.com and open Settings for the portfolio that owns your Page.
- 2
Below Accounts, click Instagram accounts, then click Add.
- 3
Click Add Instagram account, log in to Instagram, and click Confirm.
- 4
Pair the Instagram account with your Page when prompted. Adding an Instagram account to a portfolio does not link it to a Page by itself.
Facebook Page not showing up? How to fix it
You have task access, not full control. Meta only lists Pages where you hold full control in the connect flow. Ask the Page owner to upgrade your access.
The Page lives in a business portfolio you are not part of. Ask a business admin to assign you the Page under business.facebook.com Settings.
Your Instagram is still a personal account. Convert it to Creator or Business, then retry.
The Page is already linked to a different Instagram account. A Facebook Page pairs with one Instagram account at a time. Disconnect the old link first.
Your Instagram account sits in a different business portfolio than the Page. Meta requires both assets in the same portfolio when a portfolio is involved, and an Instagram account can only belong to one portfolio.
Connect Instagram and Facebook to Velocity
With the Page attached, all three of Velocity's connection checks pass: a Creator or Business Instagram account, admin access on your Facebook Page, and the Page linked to Instagram. Head back to Velocity, open the connect flow, choose Instagram, and click through the Facebook login. Your Page and Instagram account appear in the picker, and Velocity starts planning, drafting, and publishing for both channels from one place.
Frequently asked questions
Can one Facebook Page connect to multiple Instagram accounts?
No. A Facebook Page pairs with one Instagram account at a time, and an Instagram account pairs with one Page.
Do I need Meta Business Suite to connect a Facebook Page to Instagram?
No. The Instagram app's Edit profile screen or the Page's Linked accounts settings work without Business Suite. Business Suite is one more option, not a requirement.
Is the Facebook Page connection in Accounts Center?
No. Accounts Center links your personal Facebook profile and Instagram logins. Page connections live under Edit profile, Page in Instagram, or Linked accounts on the Page.
Why do publishing tools require a linked Facebook Page?
Meta's API authenticates Instagram publishing through the linked Facebook Page. Without the link, tools like Velocity cannot see or post to the Instagram account.
Can I change which Facebook Page my Instagram is connected to?
Yes. Open Edit profile, tap Page, disconnect the current Page, then connect the new one the same way.
Will connecting my Facebook Page auto-post my Instagram content to Facebook?
No. Linking accounts does not turn on cross-posting. Sharing to Facebook stays optional on each post, and it goes through the linked Page.
Ready to connect your accounts?
Velocity is a next-generation social media assistant that plans, drafts, schedules, and publishes across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X. Once your Instagram and Facebook Page are linked, connecting them takes one login.
